These students learned about the history of Trenton and other surrounding areas as they rode nearly 14 miles throughout our community. Students also learned about important historical events and people from this area, including veterans who made our country great. A sincere Thank You goes to all the deputies from the Butler County Sheriff Department who kept our kids safe on the road, along with our Seven Mile and EES teachers and parent volunteers who helped to make this trip a success!

We are fast approaching the last day of school and would like to remind you to please pick up any medication that your child has been taking at school. It is our district’s policy that students may not transport medicine to and from school, and an adult must be responsible for the medication due to safety reasons. If you have already counted out the medications and know that there will be none left, you will not need to come to the clinic. Any medications left at school after June 1, 2018, will be destroyed and discarded. Continue reading for important information pertaining to prescription and non-prescription medication for next school year, including a Medication Permit form for 2018-2019 school year.

Flash, a K-9 Hero Visit Edgewood Schools

even Mile Elementary and Babeck Early Childhood Center received a visit this morning from Flash, one of our nation's retired Police K-9s, and his handler, Jason Johnson. They spent time with our students and staff answering questions about the work Flash had performed when she was an active Police dog with Jason. Jason founded Project K-9 Hero. This non-profit organization provides assistance with medical costs, food and end of duty services for retired police and military working dog heroes. Jason has written a book that shares the adventures of Flash when she was an active Police K-9. He provided each school with an autographed copy of his book, "K-9 Flash Becomes a Hero!" Everyone who attended was so attentive during Jason's presentation and were so excited to meet Flash! It was a true honor to get to meet two of our country's heroes today! If you'd like, you can vote online at the link below for Flash. She is nominated as the 2018 American Humane Law Enforcement Dog of the Year. Voting continues through April 25.
